When you’re having slight troubles with your life, and you don’t think you need serious medical attention for it, you’d probably cross out the thought of seeing a shrink or a psychiatrist. A lot of people think twice about seeing shrinks nowadays because of the negative connotation that comes with it. Most people prefer life coaches, but a lot of these clients also don’t know what to look for in a life coach. It’s true that a life coach should be someone positive, motivational, and available. However, it doesn’t stop at all these traits. After all, you can probably find these traits in a number of your friends. What you want is someone who has scientific training too. You’re going to need a life coach with an NLP training.

What NLP means

NLP is a shorter name for Neuro-Linguistic programming. For someone familiar with hypnosis, the techniques of NLP are actually pretty similar. When a life coach uses NLP techniques, s/he keeps in mind that his/her words are very powerful when it comes to their clients’ frame of thinking. A lot of people who go into counseling half-forget that their jobs entail a sort of “brain washing”. As counselors you do have the power to shape your clients’ minds. When you’re not careful, and you’re not trained with enough NLP skills, you can put your client’s life in danger simply by saying the wrong words for a message you wanted to deliver.

Other NLP concerns

As in most psychological fields of study, NLP is also concerned with common behavioral patterns in humans. These patters, according to past researchers, are usually signals of forthcoming successes or failures. When your life coach is trained with NLP techniques, s/he’ll be able to pinpoint your personal problems faster. NLP training also arms your life coach with the right amount of knowledge to help them identify psychological or learned limitations which may be stopping you from reaching your dreams.

A lot of life coaches, especially when they’re starting out, often feel as if they’re floating. They’ve been trained to give motivational talk, but under what basis? They’ve been trained to identify behavioral patterns that are observed in human beings, but what should they do next? Life coaches aren’t allowed to diagnose clients nor administer medicine. They can only stay positive and give nothing but good advice, but how to they know if they’re using the right words for this purpose? The answer all lies in NLP.

NLP is the abbreviated nickname of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. When you look at it as an outsider, it may seem like “brain washing” for you, but it’s actually the complete opposite. As life coaches, we need to understand that all forms of counseling are eventually “brain washing”. When you’re trained with NLP, you don’t counsel carelessly. You know that your words mean a lot to your clients, and you’ll craft them more carefully so you’ll stimulate nothing but positive action after your session.

People without NLP training can also give good advice, but they’re not as self aware of the power of their words on people as life coaches who have been given NLP training. Psychologists and psychotherapists also experience failures with clients because they’ve overlooked one aspect of their advice one way or another. They’ve accidentally caused the patient to do the exact opposite of what they were trying to say. Words are very tricky, especially when your profession depends on counseling. NLP training for motivational professionals helps minimize communication mistakes. Every life coach should definitely go through NLP training. This is because life coaches don’t just commit misinformation when they give wrong counsel to their clients. They could be held liable for their client’s actions and decisions in life, and most sides of life are very hard to revive when it’s ruined.

An NLP training lets you help your client overcome his/her psychological barriers more effectively. When you know exactly what to say, because you’ve studied it in the past, you’ll be more confident about your advice as a life coach.

Life coaching has grown into a bustling career the past few years. It has become so popular that most people go into the business without ample training. Unknown to most people, you still do need to have a semblance of a scientific background before going into this profession. Life coaching won’t be complete without NLP techniques. NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming used to be an overlooked branch of psychotherapy. Today, its principles provide the basis of most motivational careers in life coaching, sports coaching, business coaching and more.

As a life coach, you need to be very responsible about the advice you give to your clients. NLP training allows you to be more aware about behavioral traits that are commonly observed in human beings. These common behavior traits usually signify success or failure in one’s life. When you see these traits in your clients, you’ll be able to tell right away what the problem is, and NLP doesn’t stop there.

Other psychological disciplines can probably help you spot behavioral traits as well, but they won’t be dealing with the role of language in counseling. If you’re a life coach trained in NLP, you’d be more careful with what you say to your clients. NLP teaches us that a lot of obstacles that our clients are actually experiencing are psychological ones. These psychological barriers which stop them from attaining their dreams have been encoded verbally into their minds as they were growing up.

Sometimes, life coaches without NLP training make the mistake of adding to these “learned limitations”. As a life coach, it’s your moral and professional duty to help your client forget about these learned limitations. You must also be very careful not to add to the psychological obstacles which may be bothering him/her.

When you’re aspiring to be a life coach, you should make sure that you garner enough training as one. You can’t expect to be a very competitive life coach if all you’re sprouting off is the “wisdom” you’ve gathered from personal experience. Remember, life coaching may be a milder version of psychotherapy, but it doesn’t mean is should be totally free of scientific principles. Although life coaches don’t diagnose patients with an odd list of personality disorders, they are still morally responsible for what happens to their clients because of their counsel. Because of this responsibility, they should be armed with ample NLP techniques.

NLP is a shortened name for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. This has been an overlooked branch of psychotherapy for over 30 years. It wasn’t until very recently that it gained popularity, what with the trend of motivational professions like life coaching. NLP is also being used now in sports coaching, business coaching, and most corporate seminars and workshops. What makes NLP the perfect partner of the life coaching career is probably its positive approach. NLP arms the life coach with ample understanding of the most common behavioral traits. It also lets the life coach realize the weight of his/her words on the clients decisions.

Remember, as a life coach, you’re using your words and your moral principles as a primary too in helping the clients “rise back from the ashes”. NLP focuses on the power of language, and its ability to encode commands in people’s minds. A life coach who has not been trained with NLP techniques would probably be able to trace the behavioral traits, but s/he would not be armed enough to say the right things to the client to motivate him/her into positive action.

When you’re trained with NLP techniques as a life coach, you take full responsibility with all of your advice. You’re not just concerned about the content of what you say, but with the very delivery of this content. NLP training doesn’t just make you a competitive life coach.

Most people prefer to be guided by life coaches instead of psychiatrists nowadays. This is because hiring a life coach has a more positive feel to it. When you seek the services of a shrink or a psychiatrist, it seems to say that you’re mentally ill one way or another. It’s still a bit of a taboo in our society no matter how “modern” we all claim to be. A life coach is not a medical specialist for most people. For a lot of clients who hire life coaches, their life coach is a positive motivator, perhaps a hired “friend” who gives very good advice, but s/he is definitely not someone who’ll diagnose the client with an odd personality disorder.

As a matter of fact, a life coach isn’t allowed to diagnose anything verbally or to administer any sort of drug. A life coach’s work depends wholly on counseling and good words, which is why it’s absolutely necessary to have all life coaches armed with NLP techniques. NLP is a shorter name for an understated branch of psychotherapy called Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Although NLP has been around for more than 30 years, it remained in the background until very recently, when motivational professions rose in popularity.

NLP is now being used in life coaching, sports coaching, business coaching and in most corporate seminars. This is because the approach of NLP is twofold. On one hand, it allows the life coach to pinpoint the behavioral traits of the client which may be leading his/her life to failure or success. On the other hand, it also lets the life coach realize the weight of words in communication, especially when it comes from the mouth of a counselor.

An NLP trained life coach would not sprout off carelessly and tell the person his/her flaws outright. When you’ve been training with NLP techniques, you’ll be more careful about what you say because it could end up contributing to the client’s “learned limitations”.

The principles of NLP revolve around the idea that human flaws are caused only by learned limitations. These barriers, in other words, are not real. As a life coach, it is your professional and moral duty to help the client break away from the learned limitations which are hindering him/her from reaching his/her dreams.

Every profession needs its own “secret ingredient.” When it comes to life coaching, this ingredient can be found in NLP training. NLP also means Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and it is slightly similar to hypnosis, but it makes use of one thing that every life coach should have: the right words. Because being a life coach requires you to be a good counsel first and foremost, you need to make sure that you only choose the right words when you give advice.

Most beginner life coaches don’t realize the weight of every single word they say to their clients. When you give out a wrong code somewhere along the way, your clients could regress instead of progressing. NLP training prevents such mistakes. It does not only arm you with ample knowledge about common behavioral traits that lead to either success or failure. NLP also provides the life coach with all the right linguistic tools which they can use when dealing with their clients.

As a matter of fact, most life coaches consider it a professional suicide to practice without proper NLP training. NLP training puts the kick in life coaching because it gives the discipline the added scientific grounding. If you’re a responsible life coach, you’ll definitely invest in learning these techniques not just because it makes your credentials more competitive in the market. You’ll learn NLP techniques because you want to be a responsible life coach who wants to make learned professional decisions. After all, you’re handling actual lives here. You’re not just teaching your clients how to play sports or how to run businesses. These things can be repaired if they’re shattered somewhere along the way. Guiding people to live their lives is a different thing altogether.

If you’re an aspiring life coach, you need to taken note of several trainings you have to undergo to safeguard your career. One of them is NLP training. NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming has been around for more than 30 years. However, it has been pushed to the sides because of the scientific prerequisites of psychotherapy. With the growing popularity of motivational careers this decade, though, NLP has found new homes in life coaching, business coaching, sports coaching, and many more.

A lot of NLP principles are now being applied in company seminars especially where restructuring is involved. This is because NLP isn’t just about identifying behavioral traits that lead to failures or success. It also studies one of the most important elements of counseling, which is language.

As a life coach, you need to realize that your words weigh a lot. You can’t just shoot off and give some careless advice to your client unless you’re absolutely certain that you phrased the advice correctly. NLP training lets every life coach realize the power of the words they spill out. Every single sentence they say to the client could alter the client’s life forever. NLP training also zeroes in on the “learned limitations” people have inside their heads. These are illusory hindrances that stop people from reaching their goals. They think that there’s something stopping them from getting what they want, when in reality, these illusions have just been instilled in them as a child, or by peers when they were in their adolescent years.

An NLP trained life coach would be able to pin point these learned limitations and help the client, through verbal treatment, to get over these fears and limitations. There will be no drugs used because life coaches are not allowed to administer any sort of medicine. The beauty of life coaching is that it can motivate people in a very positive manner without being too intrusive with drugs.

When you’re a life coach, you should get as much training as you can. After all, life coaching isn’t all about giving offhand advice to people who are in trouble. When you counsel as a professional, you’re morally responsible for all the future actions of your client when they’re caused by what you’re told them during your session. To avoid depressing them further, or insulting them in your talks, you should train yourself in NLP.

NLP is another name for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It dwells on the three aspects of life coaching, which makes NLP the perfect complement for your career. Because life coaching is all about counseling, NLP training lets you in on the most common behavioral traits that lead to success or failure. When you have these things at hand, you’ll be able to pin point what your clients’ real problems are. Unlike psychotherapy though, you’re not allowed to diagnose and prescribe medicines. This makes the second aspect of NLP necessary. As an NLP-trained life coach, you should be able to gauge what language to use so that your client will be motivated into positive action.

According to earlier NLP studies, we tend to get discouraged from reaching our goals not because we’re actually limited in capacities. We just think we’re being hindered from reaching our goals, but the hindrances are actually all in our heads. In NLP terminology, this is referred to as “learned limitations”. With ample NLP training, a life coach would be able to use the right motivational words to let the client unlearn these wrong acquired notions on their own. Essentially, when you have NLP training on your side, you’re not just sprouting off motivational words to your client. You’re not simply a beam of sunshine trying to make them see the way. Every decision that you make now as a life coach, because you’ve been trained with NLP techniques, would be based on sound scientific principles.

A lot of people are interested in becoming a life coach these days. With the growing demand for counseling, life coaching is indeed a flourishing industry. However, the discipline can’t be taken for granted. Although it’s not as in depth as psychotherapy, and it motivates people instead of diagnosing them for various mental illnesses, life coaching still needs to be grounded in scientific principles. It cannot exist in the wizened life coach’s instincts alone. If you’re aspiring to be a life coach, you should definitely be trained with NLP techniques.

NLP techniques, of Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques, were originally designed for psychotherapy. Since its inception though, some 30 years ago, NLP has remained on the sidetracks of the medical practice. It wasn’t until the recent popularity of counseling careers like life coaching and business coaching that NLP rose back to popularity. Today, almost all non-diagnostic fields of motivational careers, sports coaching included, make use of NLP techniques.

NLP is the perfect partner for life coaching because it focuses not just on the study of common behavioral patterns. NLP also studies the use of languages, and how codes can shape the mentality of a person. According to earlier studies related to NLP, human beings get discouraged from reaching their goals because of “learned limitations” and not real ones. These “learned limitations” are illusory barriers which stop people from trying harder. Apparently, they’ve been unconsciously encoded into our minds through out the years.

A life coach who is trained in NLP techniques will be able to identify these “learned limitations” and be able to help their clients unlearn them through careful and precise language as well. Unlike other psychoanalytical branches which seem to focus more on diagnosing patients, NLP is a proactive discipline which complements the goals of life coaching.

Although it’s a popular profession right now, people often underestimate the prerequisites of becoming a life coach. They think that life coaching is all about giving wizened advice to people who are simply “misdirected” or “distracted” by superficial life barriers. While this is also true, the life coach’s wizened advice doesn’t come from rich life experience alone. As in other counseling careers, life coaching also has a scientific backbone.

The most common and effective training you should be looking for if you’re an aspiring life coach is NLP. Neuro-Linguistic Programming used to be an understated psychotherapy technique. Now, with the rising popularity of counseling and motivational professions, NLP found a new life in life coaching, business coaching, sports coaching, and many more. NLP doesn’t just arm life coaches with ample knowledge about tracing behavioral patterns. It also arms life coaches with the right language which they can use to counsel their clients accordingly.

Remember, you can’t counsel well if you’re not good with your words. Without proper NLP training, you may end up insulting your client instead of helping him/here. Also, although we press that every individual is “unique” NLP gives the life coach access to common cases of “learned limitations” in the past. Remember, NLP has been around the psychotherapy scene for more than 30 years. This makes the study a very rich resource for any life coach.

Among the other fields of psychotherapy, NLP is among the most significant for the field life coaching. If you’re looking for a scientific grounding for your discipline as a life coach, you should definitely look into the possibilities of NLP. On the other hand, if you’re having personal problems you don’t think you can handle without guidance, hiring an NLP trained life coach is a very good move.
